WIND

Respond to this post with information about wind energy.

  1. Wind turbines, which can be located out in the ocean in the middle nowhere, will create more wind energy then wind turbines that are placed on land. Because the ocean has a lot more wind then on land, and it will create a lot more energy for houses. It will also help more if they put multiple ones out in the ocean for the ocean wind gusts.

  2. Wind energy systems take the kinetic energy of the flowing wind and turn it into mechanical energy that can be used in a practical way, by using a wind turbine which contains a generator. Mechanical energy is used every day, and wind energy is mostly harnessed in remote locations, some being lone windmills, others found on windmill farms. These farms are often located on mountains or Plains, where wind is found in abundance. Wind electric turbines are used to create electricity for homes and some businesses, and smaller windmills can be found on the top of buildings in large cities. The wind energy harnessed can even be sold to utilities.

  3. Radar, civilians, wind turbines, and the military can exist together. The government is working hard to make the wind industry benefit the economy, environment, and energy security of America better.

  4. One of the earliest forms of energy to be harnessed was wind energy. It had been used since about 5000 B.C. when wind was used to push boats on the Nile river. In 200 B.C. windmills were made. China used them to pump water. In Persia and the middle east wind was used for grinding grains.

  5. On a wind farm, wind turbines are set up along a vast space of open land where wind is often frequent. These turbines spin and create wind energy. These farms can take only 6 months to build, but around 2 years to get a permit for in order to have a wind power farm.

  6. If a wind turbine is small than it does not produce as much energy as a larger turbine when spun.

  7. Hydrogen will be better for our environment because it lets out water not carbon dioxide, and it would be better for cars rather than gasoline.

  8. Having more than 3 million kWh can power almost a whole city with electricity.

  9. Hi...
Wind energy will help us in the future create more energy to power more homes for more people. By 2018 we should be expecting at least 16,000 Mega-Watts of electricity to be provided from solar energy. This could power a lot of homes.

  10. Basically wind energy is solar energy and with the air pressure and the heat change it creates wind. When air mass is in motion than it has kinetic energy which also has mechanical energy than can be transformed in to electrical current.

  11. Today, wind turbines are helping to increase our needs for energy. These wind turbines are highly efficient and one day, wind turbines will be able to run cities for future generations.

  12. Wind is from solar energy. When the sun heats different parts of the earth they heat at different rates. This causes different parts of the atmosphere to heat at different rates also. Then the hot air rises which in turn reduces the atmospheric pressure on the earth’s surface. So cooler air is then drawn to replace the warmer air. This is how wind is created.

  13. Offshore wind power creates more energy than onshore wind power. Since the wind is much stronger at sea this creates more energy. There is also a lot of room for offshore windpower.

  14. The wind turbines may even become necessities one day. The turbines are very powerful and if there was a wind farm close to a city where there is always a lot of wind, turbines could become a great resource.

  15. When there are a lot of wind turbines in an area it is called a wind power plant or wind farm. They will only work where it is windy. They can range in size from a few megawatts to hundreds of megawatts. They can be made bigger or small as they need to be.

  16. When the hot air rises then the cool air takes it place and makes wind .

  17. Wind energy near the ocean is colder then land. And the colder air is heavier that increases the speed.

  18. The small wind turbines are little electric generators. They free powers for a lot of things like farms, homes and businesses. Small wind turbines is used for a lot of things.

  19. Wind is the flow of gasses on a large scale. On Earth, wind consists of the bulk movement of air.

  20. Wind energy is a renewable energy that is runned by wind turbines, and used to produce wind energy.

  21. Darrieus model farm windmills is used for pumping water. The darrieus wind turbines are vertical axis turbine, which means the main shaft runs vertically. The darrieus wind turbine is a lift-type vertical axis turbine and only function effectively no matter which way the wind is blowing

  22. In 2009 wind machines in the United states had 71 billion kilowatts, 1.8 % of total electricity in America, it was a small fraction of electricity it had enough of electricity (6.4 million) to power households for all of Wisconsin.

  23. Wind energy in a clean never ending power source. We can now harness wind though turbines without using electricity.

  24. A turbine puts out a lot of energy and it can provide energy for about 225 to 300 houses and if we have more we could provide energy for a whole city but you also have to have an alternative to this because wind doesn’t always blow
