HYDROELECTRIC
Respond to this post with information about hydroelectric energy.
Hydroelectricity harnesses the potential energy of flowing water. Water is pulled downstream by gravity, where it meets the blades of a hydroelectric turbine and turns the blades. The shaft of the turbine turns the rotor of the generator and creates electricity the same way most other electrical generators would. Most hydroelectric plants are part of a larger dam structure and are common in the popular imagination.
Hydroelectric energy is electricity created by water. Pumped storage plants pump water from a river to a higher reservoir because of the low price of electricity at night. When electricity is valued more during the daytime, the turbines spin because of the water being released from the higher reservoir, producing electricity.
Many think that hydrogen will be used more as energy in the future. It can be produced from water by using fossils, solar, and nuclear sources. Hydrogen energy is renewable if solar energy is used to produce hydrogen from water. Fuel cells can be used to convert hydrogen directly to energy.
Water availability for hydroelectric power is somewhat limited. For a hydroelectric energy plant, you must have a dam built on a large river. So places that do not have a large river or flowing water source cannot have a hydroelectric energy source
Basically, hydropower energy comes from the moving water in the oceans, lakes, streams, etc. Building dams is an efficient way of catching the energy because the waters weight causes a wheel to turn which creates the amount of energy needed in converting kinetic energy into mechanical energy which then is produced into useable mechanical energy that humans can use.
The benefits of hydro electricity are that it’s environmental friendly and it can be a huge power source and the sources to make a power plant is many things that we use regularly so it’s easy to make.
Hydroelectric power uses water to create energy. The water in rivers flow on a downward slope. So when a dam is built the dam blocks the water and the water builds up. When the dam is opened up the water flows downward and hits the turbines. When the water hits the turbines they make them spin. When the turbines spin the generator makes electricity.
What the engineers will do is find a river with a drop in elevation; they then will build a dam. Located where the water hits the dam nearest to the top. There will be a water intake system. Where the pressure forces the water down the intake, so when the water goes down it hits a turbine. This kinetic energy turns a shaft that leads into the generator which makes power, and carries it into your home.
Hydroelectric energy is produced by running water. The most common type of hydroelectric plant uses a dam on a river to store water in a reservoir. The water released flows through a pipe into a turbine, which spins to drive a generator, producing electricity.
Hydroelectric energy is the flowing of water and the capturing the kinetic energy to create energy. Storage plants pump water. When the value of electricity is higher, water is released to produce electricity.
Hydroelectricity energy is one of many energy sources used in the world. Location is also needed. The largest dam in the world is Rogun and stands over 1000 feet tall. In order to make a very large dam like this one, u need huge lake and a latke body of water. This also helps with hydroelectric energy.
Damns create power by storing water in reservoirs. Water goes from the reservoir through a pipe into a turbine. The water spins the turbine, which creates electricity. Pumped storage plants use two reservoirs. They pump water from a river to a higher reservoir when electricity prices are low, and they release water when the grid is higher. The water rushing into the river spins turbines, which creates electricity.
This is a great alternative energy all you really need is, someone willing to build the dam, and then make sure it is operational. The only problem would be the money for it if you can do that it is pretty easy.
Hydropower plants use flowing water as stored energy. Hydropower plants turn the propeller turbine or water wheel. The turbine or water wheel is connected by a shaft to the generator. This discharges through a draft tube, as it enters the trail race and returns to the river. Before the high-voltage electricity is distributed throughout the region it enters Georgia power’s transmission line.
There are dams all around the world that produces energy that using a reservoir and collects water to run a turbine to create energy for homes and builds.
Seventy-five percent of the earth’s surface is covered in water. That amount is continually growing with the melting of the polar icecaps. Although the melting of these large blocks of ice can be bad and lead to flooding of sea-level cities, using this water and converting it to electricity might be the best way to deal with coming floods. Hydroelectric energy is one of the smartest ways to produce electricity
Hydroelectric energy is made by using water to turn turbines. The electricity that comes from the turbines goes through transformers and is made usable for powering nearby buildings.
Hi… When water building up at a dam there is immense pressure to push through and proceed with its journey down the river. Instead as humans we let it out but get something from it first. We direct the water through a series of path way leading to the bottom of the dam. Before the water exits the dam, the water will hit a series of turbines. Spinning rapidly the generator will create a lot of electrical energy to power homes across the country.
